Travel Steamers, Do They Work?

Hey All,

Have any of you purchased and used a travel clothes
steamer? If so, how would you compare it to a travel
iron. Do you have any brands and locations that you
would recommend to buy from? What was the $$. Thanks
for your help.

Hi . I have a travel steamer. It is ok but takes way to long to get out the wrinkles because it puts out little steam, so I don't even bring it along. If you pack your things really well and use the clear thin plastic bags such as the dry-cleaners use to return your clothes in you will have relatively few wrinkles. If you need steam, hang your item on the clothes line provided in the shower on Carnival ships turn on shower (full hot) aiming water away from garmet. Close the bathroom door and let the steam buid up in the bathroom. It has worked well for me. Enjoy your cruise.

I have never had much luck with steamers. If your garment is ironable (a new word!) you can go to one of the onboard laundry rooms and use the iron. Have fun on your cruise!
