We are sailing on the Conquest from Dec. 22-29. We will be visiting Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We have decided to plan all of our shore excursions on our own (thanks for all the help from these Boards!). However, the time differences are confusing me. I realize that these places do not follow Daylight Savings Time. The Ship leaves from New Orleans. Since DST ends in the winter, will the Ship TIme and Local Time be the same, or will the ship be 1 hour ahead of Local Time? This is a bit confusing, but important to know when trying to figure out our shore excursions. Should Icall Carnival and ask, or will they just confuse me more?
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Re: A Question About Time Differences
It all depends - some ships change to local time and some ships stay on "ships" time - when I was in Cozumel last year, we booked the Dolphin Discovery dolphin encounter for 4:00 local time thinking that the ship left at 7:00 (figuring ship would be on local time) - well the ship stayed on ships time which meant after the encounter was over we had 45 minutes to get dressed, buy the photos, catch a cab back from Chankanab to the international pier - run through the duty free shops, down the pier and onto the ship - let me tell you the 12 of us hustled and the last couple made it with about 5 minutes before the gangway was lifted.

Carnival keeps everything on ships time in the Caribbean which is the time for the embarking port. The local time 'may' be differant in some ports but the arrival and departure times are all on ships time.
