I am splurging on a cruise for me and my husband, my sister and her husband, and my dad and step-mom. It will be the first cruise for 3 of them. It's a thank you to them for helping my husband and I move. I've sailed on the larger Carnival ships before. This will be the first time on the Holiday. We splurged on a suite (won't tell you which couple is getting it, haha) but the view is "obstructed". I was curious if anyone had ever been in Verandah 9 to know what it's like. They said we would see the arms that hold the life raft, but that we can still see out. Hopefully we can still enjoy sitting out on the balcony and listening to the sounds of the ocean. We can just close our eyes and it won't matter anyway!
Also, I've never been that high on the ship before. We did the Cat. 12 suite once before, but it was much lower (can't remember which - maybe Main or Upper).
Thanks for any advice. I've already read a few of the messages about the Holiday and it sounds like it will be fine. Although one message that said it was refurbished did have the year listed as "05" I think, so I wondered if they were predicting the future and it was a Carnival rep. trying to keep the bad press down about her being old and worn out... haha.
