No secrets that I know of. Carnival starts boarding at noon. As for getting off it depends on if you're flying vs driving, then at what time and they issue you color coded tags and that determines when you get off.
Boarding and getting off the ship have been a nightmare for us… Long lines.. If you’re non US citizen, they will make you get up 6 in the morning and go through immigration. And please remember that they won’t let anyone go off the ship before 9 a.m…
Understand that this is a requirement of US Immigration and not the cruiselines. This is required by law and they check even more closely after the 9/11 events. If you think about it they actually clear the ship by immigration rather quickly! Have you ever flown into Europe? Lines there are easily over a hour long and not pleasant so be grateful for little things.

You'll get off according to your colored tags on your luggage. It's all sorted that way when you get off. I suggest you find your luggage and then get in line ASAP for a porter to get your luggage. Give him your customs paper you have to fill out that morning. He'll take your luggage and you through so you don't have to stand in long lines to show them your customs paperwork. MUCH easier and quicker this way. Then he just put us in a line of people that were waiting for their shuttle van to pick them up. Take the Avis or Radisson. We took the Avis. Didn't have to wait long at all. Then they'll load your baggage right on the van and you're on your way. That's if your staying at the Radisson. I rec. it.
