Default Port Everglades Transfer/Rental drop off

We are a family of 4 booked for the 01/05/03 Sailing of the Legend. We plan on arriving and departing from MIA. we want to rent a car to visit relatives on the west coast and then drop it off at dock. At the end of the cruise we would like to take transfer to MIA. Is this possible and does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks!
Russ

Russ,

If you haven't already made your flight reservations, you may want to look into airlining into Fort Lauderdale for 3 reasons....(1) in my opinion, it is easier and less congested going into Fort Lauderdale than Miami...(2) the airfare is generally a few dollars cheaper than Miami...and (3) when you rent a car from Fort Lauderdale, you can hop right on I-595 West and that dumps right into I-75, which heads over to Naples on the West Coast of Florida. When you return, you may be able to arrange for a drop at the port, or the worst case scenario would be to drop the car back at Fort Lauderdale airport, then grab a cab to the port (3 miles).

Have a great time!

Ted

You'd have no problem renting a car in Miami, then dropping it off in Ft Laud. with no drop fees.

All the major rentals have shuttles running to the piers. You can drop your luggage and family at the pier, return the car, and shuttle back.

Have your TA purchase the return transfer post cruise from the cruise line.

Ted and Kuki,
Ted, the only reason we are flying to Mia is that Alaska airlines has a direct flight from Seattle. We are flying in from Fairbanks so we are trying to keep transfers to a minimum.
Kuki, we would have loved to be on your group cruise, but kids start back to school
on Jan 13 after Christmas break. Next year we will be able to leave them home so no doubt well see you on whatever you plan for winter, Thanks again for the information.
Russ
