Michelle, just like booking your cruise, Carnival can book your pre-stay hotel and your air deviation. It will definetly cost you much more money than if you did this yourself. Cruise line pre-stay hotel rates are per person. When you book a hotel the cost is usually per room. Sometimes that amount can be almost double what one would pay directly to a hotel. Maybe the precruise stay includes transfers, but a $10 taxi fare in two to three rides does not make up the price difference: Airport to Hotel, Hotel to Pier, Pier to Airport. Also, you may transfer your reservation to any travel agency including an on-line agency with no penalty. Some agencies will even give you an additional discount.
We are on Destiny..Jan 5th and TA told us that Carnival is not offering a pre cruise package at that sailing. Sooooo...after reading a lot of info here...I went to priceline.com and got the Wyndham Condado Resort for $75.00 on Jan 4th night for our pre cruise! That is a HUGE savings from anywhere else....long story short, I am very thankful Carnival didn't offer pre cruise because they do use that resort and it is much higher price! Cathy
