I have never done a cruise with sky auction but have traveled on three other trips through
them and have never been disappointed. You have to be careful because some of their auctions will get higher than if you purchased them outright. When the bidding gets high, look for another one.
Are they reputable, yes, seems so. Will you get a good bargain, Maybe, maybe not. The thing with any auction site or place that you bid on you have to be very careful about adding up ALL the costs and measuring the level of service you will receive etc, etc. All that one can really say is "buyer beware" and go in with both eyes wide open and with questions that you want answered explained to you before you commit.
I won an auction back in July for 11/8 or 17 departure. I watched several boards before I bid and am satisfied with the $ paid, Just remember to add ALL costs cruise/pots/taxes & security fees plus process charges when making a bid. I did not buy their upgrade as it was exhorbitant. Booked my own by calling the NCL upgrade/adjustment desk when the boards showed $100 pp for inside to ov 5-6 weeks out. Pricing on assorted boeards did reach what I paid about 4-6 weeks out but I had advance ime to shop air/hotel/car for best rates and did very well with priceline. Got documents 2 weeks in advance after an e-mail that they were in transit. As good service as ever.
funny you should ask because i just won a cruise thru them today!! the auction ended after 5pm and i assume they close for business around then because no one has gotten back to me yet. so.....i'm a little anxious to find out if the absolutley WONDERFUL price i end up getting will actually become a reality!! email me in a day or so to find out!!
