Default Pride 11/2 Review

We arrived in Florida Friday, 11/1. We were very glad to do this. I rented a mustand convertable and stayed at the airport marriot. Plenty of things to do around the area, Liquor stores, liquor stores, disney stuff, places to eat, etc.........
On Friday, we went to to Radisson to see if we could find anyone from the cruisecritic board and did, everyone was very friendly, we recommend everyone meeting up with people you meet on these boards.
Boarding:
This went very easy, we got lucky and got a Cat. 11 upgrade which entitled us to the Skippers club. Carnival Reps took care of all of our paper work then escorted us to a seperate area for priority boarding. This was nice, we got to be the first to board the ship and go some real nice photos. Even if you have to wait in the long lines, I didnt see anyone complaining, if you have all of your paper work ready everything seemed to go real smooth.
11:15 AM we were on the ship, walked around and then went to the Lido deck pool got our first Miami Vice and lunch at the Grill. After lunch we went up to our room and saw our room steward Lorainne. She was very friendly and always took good care of us! We asked her to clear out our refridge and keep our ice bucket full and she did all the time.
We found out very quickly that the very back of the boat (room 8266) has a severe vibration from the engines, you do get used to it, but Natalie took bonine the entire time to make sure she did not get sick and it worked very well! From what I saw, no matter which room you have, you will be very happy, the rooms are very nice.
Bahamas, we have been to the island many of times, so we decided to stay by the ship relax and buy a couple of cigars. (note to cruisers, bahamas is basically shutdown on sundays, do the tender to Salt Cay). This was probably the second regret of the Cruise. This is the night we did Davids, this is a must, very good food, however, I would recommend the steak or crab claws, I had the lobster, good but a little tuff, I heard the crab claws and steak were excellent
First day at sea, we relaxed all day, did some gambling, entered the slot turnament and lost, but had fun. There is always plenty of food at the buffets, one recommendation if you are not a big breakfast eater, eat in your room via room service, I never used it until the end and wished I did, Lunch service starts up right about Noon, so this was a long wait for me. All the food in the mermaids grill area is good, I love pizza and was a little shocked, I heard alot about the pizza and didnt like it, But my wife Natalie loved it.
St. Thomas:
Wake up earlier and enjoy the Island, we did paridise point and the Ron Tiki Raft Party. The Paradise point is a must, but I would recommend doing something other than the Ron Tiki Raft Party, weak booze but other than that it was fun.
St. Marteen, we didnt do any excrursions, took the water taxi 6 pp round trip, shopped around on Front Street, excellent bargains! Took a taxi to Orient Beach 5 pp One way. This was the trip that got me in trouble....Yes guys in trouble....Natalie did not like going to a Nude Beach., Even thought the ratio was 10 guys to 1 women. We did enjoy trying to have a conversation with two very friendly women at a beach side bar at orient beach, if you stay to the left away from the Nude Area, you will only see topless women and an nude guy every 10 minutes rather than every second.......All in all I enjoyed the beach, very nice.
Back At Sea, relaxed again, again and again, Gambled alot won a good amount, played the Slot turnament again on Thursday and won $500 (for those that do not understand the turnment, it is very fun, costs $20 to enter, you get 300 credits and you play them out until you have no more, the top 12 compete in a final round top score wins $500) It is worth $20, it is Fun
Friday, Last day at Sea, Relax and enjoy your friends that you have meet. Played the BlackJack turnament two times and lost both times, at least I couldnt lose in the real thing. Placed our bags out around 9pm and started to get depressed about going home

Saturday, we woke up at 7:00 am got everything together, we to the butterflies lounge and away we went.

One Final note, Go to as many shows as you can they were all great, no matter which one we saw, we did not get to have one of the shows because the comedian missed the boat!
