I heard that a Carnival ship ran aground in Cozumel in the last few days. A Crystal passenger in the Ft. Lauderdale airport mentioned this to me yesterday. Can anyone confirm?
On the morning of 11-29-02 the Carnival Holiday became stuck on a sand bar in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. All passengers were flown back to New Orleans. No one was injured and the ship did not sustain any damage. Later in the day it was freed from the sand bar and was operating on her own.
Location: Wisconsin....about 100 miles south of the Frozen Tundra and 70 miles east of Camp Randall

The Holiday ran aground on a sandbar and was unable to get off by herself - as of two days ago tugboats were there - ship should be back in NO by now and leaving on a two day cruise to nowhere (regular scheduled cruise cancelled.) Check out www.carnival.com and check out the news releases.
