Hi. I am going on the Sensation in February and was wondering if anyone has been on this one before? I am a first time cruiser! Also, I am a little worried about motion sickness. What is it like sailing in the Gulf of Mexico? Is it calmer? Also, what should I take to prevent it. Also the ports of call (cozumel & Grand Cayman) What would you recommend. Thanks!
The Sensation was my 1st cruise ever and we really loved it so I am sure you will too. As for things to do in Coz and Grand Cay do a search with that and you will see many posts on this iten. I know I have responded to many in the past. But definately in Grand Cay do the stringray tour. As a 1st timer I would probably go with the tours the ship books. They will have a "talk" on the ship about the various tours and recommendations either the 1st or 2nd day on board. Be sure to look at your Carnival Capers (a daily paper of events) for the time and place. These places are safe to go on your own and you will have enough time if you do a tour at each stop to also do some shopping. The prices are better in Coz and they will haggle. Grand Cay is expensive and you won't find any haggling. I found the booze to be better priced in Grand Cay. Go to Tortula Liquors, it is also a ship recommendation. Also in Grand Cay be sure to sample the rum cake. The samples are in many shops and it is so good! I know you will enjoy this cruise. Happy sailing!

I, along with my wife and several other relatives, will be a first time cruiser on that same ship, same date. We range in age from late twenties to mid fifties and hope to play a lot of Scrabble, if the shipboard excitement permits. I'll be the one getting accused of making up words. Say hello, if you see us. And don't believe it if someone runs into a meeting room, announcing a whale sighting. I've heard that some Caribbean Cruise Directors who like to play practical jokes on first timers.
My wife and I just took our first cruise on the Sensation 12/9 for the Nascar cruise. We were very impressed with the entire staff on the Sensation, they all seemed very happy at their job and went WAY out of their way to make you feel like royalty. We were seated in the Fantasy dining room and had early seating. George the Greek who runs this dining room is awesome he makes it a very fun and delicious dining experience. The shows were fantastic and the cruise director has a great personality. We were on the main deck in M172 an oceanview cabin which I found to be much roomier than I expected. We found people watching on Sensation Bivd to be one of our favorite spots to start the nightlife and have a few drinks which are served very generously I might add no water down here.Sensation Blvd is also the best way to get around front to back from cabin to dining casino and shows and the like. We would definitely sail on the Sensation again and very well could be in April right now it's between the Fascination or the Sensation for the kids spring break we are considering. You will ENJOY your stay on the Sensation !
Well as far as I can advise, since I have only been on one cruise, take Drammime or
Bonnine....DO NOT TAKE THE PATCH...IT MADE ME FEEL HORRIBLE!
I am curious as to how the waters will be there too, since we will be on a cruise in that area March 30, so how are the waters there?
Are you going by yourself or with friends? I will be on that cruise also with a friend.
Trying to meet people before i get onboard. SBF 39. IF you are interested
let me know. email me at email@example.com. Wnet on the Imagination out of Miami
this year and loved it! Just a bit of sea sickness at first, but wnet away.
I took a cruise on the sensation myself it was really cool. We did goto cozumel and Grand Caymen. At Cozumel, we went on the Mayan Ruin Tour. A Bit spendy, but it was nice.
I am looking for a picture while I was on the cruise. It is a pictue of a map, which traces out the path we went during the cruise. It was located in the hallway between the stairs and the casino. If it shows you leaving from Tampa to Grand Caymen to Cozumel, to New Orleans, and then back Tampa, Could you take a picture of it for me?
