Hey just wondering if soda cards available to adults or is it only allowed for kids. What about for adults who don't drink alcohol? Also how much do the drink cards cost and how do you go about purchasing them. Are you able to buy them before the cruise?
I thought the soda cards were a great idea for adults. At $2.50 a soda, if you drink more than 4 a day, it was well worth it. I found the bartenders at the bars were pretty lax about one at a time. ( I had my own sodas in the cabin)
I was on back to back 7 day cruises on the Victory. On the first week the price was $29.99 for 7 days for an adult soda card including the tip. On the second week it jumped to $34.99 for 7 days for an adult card including tip. The bartender did check for us and yes Carnival has raised the soda card prices and yes it does depend on how long the cruise is.
They also raised the price of doing your own laundry on the ship. The price went from $1.00 for a wash to $2.00 for a wash and from $1.00 for the dryer to $1.50 for the dryer. We did find a dryer that had the coin slots but if you just pushed start it would dry for free.
I packed 2 2 liters of pepsi in my carry on luggage and they did not say a thing. There are cups and ice in your room. I also took an insulated mug with me and just filled it up in the room and took it anywhere I wanted to go.
Wow quite a response! Anyways thanks for the info. I'd also like to know if you are able to use the soda cards in the regular bars/clubs inside the ship or if they are only to be used at the poolside bars outside?
You can use them anywheres on the ship, from any place that has softdrinks available. Just show them the card and simply say "Id Like a Coke" etc. Alot of peopel only purchase one card and share them between 2 or more people this is not uncommon. some say its not right but hey do what you want and worry about yourself not others. All you do is tell them you want a coke and show them the card then walk and give it to another person and then they go get one. Once the workers and people in the dining room know you they dont even need to see it again. I dont drink Coke but my Husband does and he got one and when we were at dinner they only needed to see the card the first night and then that was it, but they said I could also get a softdrink also if I wanted one. The workers really dont care just as long as one person has the card and possibly only if you ask nicely and tip well you wont even need one.
