We will be going on a three day cruise on the fantasy. I'm confused about tipping. There are 3 of us going, so $9.75 a person per day, is that right? So roughly $30.00 a day for three people, or $90.00 total for the 3 days. Does this include everbody's tipping? Thanks Diana
That pretty much covers it Diana. You of course can adjust it up or down or even remove it from the automatic deduction from your sail and sign and tip in person the traditional way and adjust the amount up or down individually.
Re: Re: first time cruising need help with tipping
The auto tipping is for the cabin steward, busboy and waiter. If you want to tip the head waiter and/or maitre'd, you would do that seperately. They will provide you with envelopes. Like Jim said you can adjust the amounts on auto tip up or down.

You're figures are about right. Bring some extra cash to tip room service deliveries as they happen, porters with your bags (if you arrive via airplane, bus, van) and if you have children and will be using the kids programs, remember to tip the counselors, too. Also, if you take any shore excursions, you may want to tip the drivers/operators/captains of the excursion you are on.
It depends on what the excursion was. For instance, in St. Thomas we took a taxi from our ship to Magen's Bay (less than a 30 minute drive) so we tipped the driver $1 per person (there were four of us). On a 4 hour catamaran rum punch adventure we would tip $10-20, depending on the level of service we received. If the crew of the vessel worked extra hard to show us a great time, we would tip accordingly.
