WHAT about Dave???? I thought he was hilarious!! Of course I have nothing to compare him to, but he is very funny, and his act is a clean one. Very impressive.
Carnival Holiday 3/1/03
Yes, that is Peter Gibbs. We were fortunate to have him for two cruises. He was awesome.
My current favorite is Mark Price. (He worked under John Heald). Mark found out our special needs child had never won a ship on a stick ( in the past 6 cruises he had been on) and Mark made sure that he not only got one...but got a picture with himself, Dana and all the social hosts. Stephanie (social hosts) made sure he got a medallion. This really made his trip...because Mom and older brother have always gotten a ship on a stick for the talent show or some event we won.
Simon Pendergrass was also very impressionable.
Be on the look out for Dana. He is well on his way to CD status and will make his Jerry Lewis review a huge hit.
Mark Price is on the Fantasy until October. He will be moving to another ship at that time. I think it will be the Victory...but I am not positive. He is AWESOME!!!!!!
I have to make a comment on this post, since no one else has.
Immigration delays are NOT the cruise director's fault.

"I didn't care for Troy much when we sailed the Pride last year. He was cordial enough and energetic but he was totally lacking in the organizational department. Many activities were taking place at a different time or place than he reported. Clearing immigration in St. Thomas was a nightmare with a line of people the full length of the ship when he instructed everybody to report to the lounge at 8:30 to make sure you get through the process in time for 9:30 shore excursions. Stuff like that made me think he was not prepared.
We just got back from the Carnival Paradise and as far as I am concerned, Troy couldv'e been the entertainment the entire cruise. He was just hilarious and made even the boring things like the debarkation info seem fun....he was just great...I couldn't stop laughing.
HI,
I just returned Sunday from the Destiny, and Andrew "AJ" Jones is the CD there. It was our first cruise, so perhaps we will find better......but he sure made us laugh!!!
hey do you guys know if John H is still the cruise director on the Triumph? We're sailing on April 5th...I'll be completely stoked if he is. I keep hearing so many good things about him.
John is indeed still on the Triumph and will be bringing out the new Glory for his final farewell tour as a Cruise Director. Tell him I said 'Hi' Mark and that you heard about him here at Cruisemates.
Jim
Just heard that starting on April 5th, Michael Mullane will be the cruise director on the Triumph. He was the CD on Carnival Legend when we were on that ship in January. We liked him very much. His wife, Jenni, works with him and is lots of fun. Both terrific personalities.
yes john heald date for leaving triumph has been changed but not april

MICHAEL AND JENI MULLANE WILL ARRIVE ON APRIL 26TH AND TAKE OVER MAY 3RD
I have had John Heald as CD on 2 of my cruises....by far my favorite!....also liked Troy Linton, but I heard there is a different CD on the Pride now....we will be on the Pride this June......
Does anyone know where Malcolm (in the Middle) is...the Assistant Cruise Director...you know tall (6' 7"), black guy? He is hilarious and should one day have his own ship!
Yeah Dave was a hoot. Of course you and I was on the same cruise, so we saw the same shows and stuff. I love the way he kicks back his leg and that sound he makes. I laughed more with him on did I did most of the comedians. Only one I could compare him to is Brett Allain that was on the Inspiration last summer and I didn't find him to be funny.
