Default Cat. 7A outside obstructed???

We're booked on the Legend for Mar. 10, 2003 in a cat. 7A guarantee with a poss. upgrade to an 8A. Has anyone been in a 7A cabin. The websites say they have french doors... I realize that they are obstructed by the life boats. Thats okay by me, I just wanted to know if you can open the doors and is there a balcony????

BTW, the brochure doesn't even list a 7A.....???

Those are 5A's, not 7A's and they are located on deck 4. Getting a 8A would be a two cat upgrade to a balcony. More likely you will get a 6A oceanview if you get upgraded at all. Best advice is to book the catagory you will be satisfied with and never expect an upgrade. If you get one, good, if not then you are not disappointed.

The cat 5A's are the ones with the French Doors. There is a new cat 7A on the Pride, Legend, Spirit. Depending on the brochure you are looking at they may be called 8Bs. The cat 7A cabins have regular balconies, however, they are listed as obstructed views because the lifeboats are below them...the tops of the lifeboats are about equal to the tops of the railings. You can look OUT at the ocean, but not DOWN.

Hope this helps.

I had a category 5A(with french doors) on the spirit main deck, it said obstructed, we are wondering if it is totally obstructed by the lifeboats? We got upgraded to a 6A and hoping that is better, even tho it is on the first deck. anybody know about this?
