Yes, there will be hair braiding. Earlier today, I read a post on another board about the safety of Ocho rios and one person replied that they were bugged a lot by people selling stuff and women wanting to braid their hair. Just 2 weeks ago I had my hair braided in St. Maarten by a Jamaican woman.

My daughter had it done at Dunns Rriver Falls. It was the cheapest we had found it. They do it in a hut along the walkway from the lockers to the parking lot. Make sure you haggle with them!!! They did a great job!!! My daughter had it in for a couple of weeks and it stayed perfect!!!

It's not just Ocho Rios were they hound you. I've been in many places in MX and they are just as bad also. They will find you before you even see them.

Yes, they have it about everywhere in Jamaica. Dolphin Cove had people who would do it for $2/braid or $20 for half -head, not sure how much for full head.

I did hear that if you get it done in town that, for example, your kid is getting it done while you are shopping, that one will braid then one will take out other braids so they have to be redone, so that the parent will shop more and spend more.

If you want to get it done bring your own comb and squirt bottle along. Some of the hair braiders I have seen are not overly sanitary. Bring a fine tooth comb and a little squirt bottle with water and a touch of conditioner in it and you might save yourself a big headache later.

There will be hairbraiders waiting at pretty much every port you go to in the Caribbean, if you have hair past your shoulders don't worry about finding anyone they will find you.

They have hair braiders on every island on your cruise. $2/braid is average. Bringing your own comb is a great suggestion!
