Hello,
We just sailed the destiny on April 27th with a group of 28, we had five balcony rooms(my husband and I got the corner balcony room for the whole group). We've sailed this ship before and they opened all the balcony rooms. Well when we got on the destiny this time they said they stopped opening them two weeks ago for security reasons. My husband went down and wrote a complaint, and all rooms called the pursers office to complain. We told them we were all friends and we will sign off on any thing. They finally opened them on Wed.(our fourth cruise day). Also, when I booked(a year ago) I had my travel agent call carnival to verify that the 5 balconies connected(some of them on the back of the ship don't) and they said they did. So I think they had no choice but to open for us. Just constantly call and complain, they will probably open for you. It sounds like maybe some one had something stolen out of there room, and the balcony doors were open. But they should just have you sign a form that they are not responsible.
Lynn
No, we did not sign a form, I had called down because on Tues morning some one called from the pursers office and said they would be opening them up that day. Wed. at 1pm they were still closed. I contacted the pursers office, and they said a manager would be up to speak with me. I waited 45 minutes and had to leave for a tour, as we were waiting for the tour we could see her opening up the balcony doors(we were on the back of the ship). I sure hope this isn't anything permenant, we always travel as a group on the cruises, and that was so cool to have the balconies connecting.
Lynn
Thanks again Lynn,
We have a long wait for our cruise, 17 April 2004, but I will try get the O.K to open then before we go. I will keep you posted.
See ya,
Henry
There are safety reasons that they do not wish to have these partition open while at sea.Check with your purser and if they agree fine, but understand that they may not want to do this and they may not be allowed to so making a fuss does nothing but upset everyone.

Hi Marge,
We too booked early to ge these cabins together. It's so great to have the opened balcony! Have you done this on other cruises like we have? I know many others have.

Hi, We will be on the Veranda deck, we got a 8c upgrade from a 8a from Carnival. We haven't been on a cruise for 15 yrs. The only one we have been on was Premere Cruise Lines when they did the Old Disney Cruise on the big red boat. We loved it! Everyone says if we loved that, we will really love Carnival Glory, so I can't wait. April 2004 is a looong way off!!!!
Hi, We did the big red boat also for our first and second cruises. Now we are hooked on Carnival also. It is wonderful. CArnival treats us great. You will love every minute of the cruise. Happy sailing! Char
