Hope we all enjoy the cruise. The Ship should back in New Orleans by then. I keep calling Carnival to find out the latest info. At present, The Conquest is scheduled to return from Gulfport to New Orleans for rhe June 8 TH Sailing.
Like to travel,
Thanks for the news on when the Conquest will be back in New Orleans.I know you are looking forward to your cruise.I know we are ! Tell us about it when you return !
I have been reading Reviews for months regarding the Carnival Conquest. At some point, we were planning to cancel. One of the reasons we selected this cruise was that we planned to be in New Orleans prior to the June 22 Sailing. The convenience of cruising from New Orleans seemed interesting. When I learned the Ship changed embarkation to Gulfport, I got very concerned and then when the date changed from the end of April to June, I figured things may still be uncertain or Carnival was trying to put off the return to New Orleans as far as possible so it would not have to make additional changes..
We visited New Orleans about 8-10 years ago (prior to Harrah's Casino), so I'm anxious to see the latest placesand deveopment in the city.
I've learned so much from past cruisers that I certainly plan to write a Review when we return.
.
Like To Travel,
My T.A. told me last night, that around the first of June, the Conquest should be back in N.O. By the time you go, they should diffently be there. But.....
Don't be concerned to travel to the Gulfport port. The Mississippi Gulf Coast is a nice place to visit. Actually, alot safer than New Orleans. If all's well on the home front, go on your vacation and enjoy yourself. You only live once ! And if not, I hope you can reschedule your vacation soon!
I'm one of the lucky ones, both Gulfport and New Orleans are 3 hour drives for me. Even though I've embarked from N.O several times in the past, and I know my way around now,I still would rather go to Gulfport. But I think by August, I will be going to N.O port. And thats cool to. The wife and I are ready to go !
Happy Cruising;
David W.

Conquest
Yes, at this point, I think I'm ok IF the Conquest should leave from Gulfport instead of New Orleans. I called Carnival AGAIN yesterday and was again told that the Conquest is still scheduled to return to New Orleans for the June 8 sailing.
We wanted to sail from New Orleans as we are visiting the City prior to the Cruise. We were in New Orleans about 8 (prior to the opening of Harrah's Casino) or so years ago for about 5 days.
Anyone sailing on June 8 should check with Carnival about the possibility of the Ship arriving late in New Orleans. I was told the June 1 sailing passengers first have to disembark in Gulfport, then the Ship will saill to New Orleans for the June 8 passengers' embarkation. I'm sure it will take several hours for this journey. Maybe, Carnival will make some sort of arrangement for passengers to stay in another location while waiting for the Conquest. I read that passengers in Gulfport register at the Casino in Gulfport and then they are taken to the Pier to continue with additional registration.
To injrad:
We are sailing on the Conquest on June 22, 2003. I'm consideringa time to organize a gathering of Board Message writers. I'm really new to the Bulletin Boarsd. Are you interested?
My husband and I are traveling. We selected the late dinner seating. However, as one Reviewer noted, the second seating group are scheduled to see the SHOWS prior to dinner. This seems strange as on our other cruises, passengers' shows are scheduled after dinner for each dinner seating.
At this point, the schedule of SHOWS is really not so important. There is supposed to be an Adult Only SHOW at around midnite anyway. I prefer not to rush and get ready for dinner, so the Late Seating is normally fine with me.
We are not traveling with children. There should be many children and young adults on this cruise. I read on another Message Board about some families traveling with children and college age travelers. So far, I have not registered on that board, so I have not written anything.
On another topic "Conquest Review" a Board Writer who was on an April sailing responded that the late seating guests have their Shows scheduled at 10:30 p.m.
To those passengers sailing on June 22, The Conquest will NOT be back in New Orleans for this sailing. I just called Carnival a few minutes ago. The Conquest will sail from Gulfport, Mississippi on June 22. The Conquest is now scheduled to return to New Olreans in July, but this date could certainly change.
TO: Love to Travel
I am also traveling with my husband. We would love to meet some new people. This is my husband's first cruise and my third. I just want him to enjoy it as much as I enjoyed my past cruises. I don't think that will be a problem! :-) We are scheduled for the late seating also. I hope it isn't the absolute latest...It's too bad you can't pick the time!
Talk to you soon!
According to CCL and the NOLA paper, Conquest will remain in Gulfport until the July 6th cruise, it will return folks to NOLA on July 12th, and then depart July 13th for the remainer of the 5 yr contract.

I'm sure we will all be meeting many new people on the SHIP.
I was planning to post something like ROLL CALL for Carnival Conquest 6/22/03, but not many passengers on that sailing seem to be on this message board, at least, they are not leaving messages. I have only glanced at one message titled something like " Who's Sailing on Carnival". (sometimes, if I return to the message board while writing, my message gets deleted, so I'm not going to look for the exact title).
We received our tickets on Thursday. I had asked the TA for them early, so I would not get nervous as we will be leaving for New Orleans about one week prior to the cruise. Nothing was mentioned in the packet about any possible change to Gulfport.
My husband called Carnival and some rep. had the nerve to tell him that TAs were told about the possibility of our sailing leaving from Gulfport. At least my TA never mentioned anything or wrote anything in the documents.
I had even called Carnival earlier in the week and was still told the sailing would be from New Orleans. A day or so later when I again called, I was told Gulfport.
I think Carnival should certainly indicate something on their website about the port change.
We were planning to get to the New Orleans Pier early for the shuttle to Gulfport, but we may get delayed. My husband may now have to attend a meeting. Had the SHIP left from New Orleans, his possible meeting would not have been a problem. I had decided to either get to the Pier real early or late (as some passengers noted the lines were already not bad later in the day). Now, we may be pressed to get to the Pier in time for a shuttle or taxi to Gulfport.
As a TA, I would have made sure the clients knew where the ship was leaving from, instead of them calling CCL every other day.

I was wondering since the Conquest is saliing from gulfport instead of New Orleans does that really mess up the returning flights back home since gulfport is about an hour away from MSY according to CCL?
To Prdevacaton:
I guess I have to accept my TA's response that he had NOT yet received the newest info from Carnival-- about the Conquest sailing from Gulfport unitl July. I only called him a day or so after learning about the situation on this message board.
You certainly seem very knowledgeable about Carnival. IIt seems that you must pay close attention to all the details past cruisers have noted, and you must pass on this info to your clients.
To Shipbound:
Providing The Conquest gets to Gulfport on time, I assune Carnival makes sure the passengers make their flights. If you have read other posts on this message board, some passengers have missed their flights when the Conquest arrives in port late.
In many cases, passengers' cruise insurance will cover the costs of missed flights. Passengers selecting Sea and Air packages are also most likely compensated for missed flights.
Yes I like to think I do pay attention to what ya'll say, and pass that info onto my clients.
As for catching flights out of the NOLA Airport, when the ships docks in Gulfport here is what they do: On the Saturday before docking, go to the debarkcation meeting in the lounge and they will tell you how to arrange to get off the ship first, if you are flying out of NOLA by lunchtime. Make sure you bring your airtickets, or itinerary with you to prove your air times.

Four of us will be sailing June 22. Me, wife, 14 yr old son, and 8 yr old daughter. First cruise for all (I don't count my first 25 years ago). We were concerned about the port, but our TA has kept us up to date. Also, if you call Carnival for anything, their reps have finally started to let people know about Gulfport.
Has anyone heard anything about the Spa deck rooms? I can't find anything on them online.
The rooms on Spa Deck are Category 6E, which are Ocean View Rooms. If you are able to, go to www.cruisestaterooms.com and you should be able to see a room.

I started a topic," Anyone sailing on the Carnival Conquest 622/03?"
Maybe, the many passengers sailing on June 22 can converse together. However, I thought more readers would be responding. Maybe, the " Conquest 6/22/03" will generate more readers, so either topic is fine with me.
With all the Posts I've read, I should certainly be somewhat familar with the SHIP on June 22. This will be our first Carnival Cruise, although, we have gone on 5 preivous 7-day cruises.
We are also going about 30 of us from LA, ARK, and Texas. Plan to have a great time, my first cruise. I don't know if I can wait. I am about shopped out for this trip and now guess I will fill my days with packing. I have read almost everything there is about this trip, so I feel I am ready for anything, even unhappy cabing boys and waiters, we will make them smile.
I just responded to the other Conquest 6/22 thread, but just in case there are different people reading this one, I decided to post here too. (I'm brand new at this Message Board thing!) We're from San Diego and are a family of 4 (husband, myself and 2 daughters - ages 18 & 16), probably our last family vacation together, as our oldest daughter just completed her first year of college and the youngest one will start college next year. This is our 3rd cruise (all on Carnival). Looking forward to meeting new friends!
My group wants to do the Ocho Rios and Dunn's River Falls $55.00 however, there is a 2 hour drive which they are not fond of so may not do it. Then they are thinking about the Pirate Boat Cruise $45.00 and Rose Hall Great House $33.00 these are in the first stop at MB. If we stopped in Ocho Rios they would do the falls for sure.
Next Grand Cayman Cockatoo Sailing and Stingray $49.00 2.5 hours.
Someone is thinking about the Grand Cayman Islant Tour in an air conditioned bus, 2 hours, $27.00. Some of old folks (who have been before) will go to the Westin and use their facilities don't know the cost or anything on that. I heard the Doctor's Cove or something like that was $3 to use their beach and showers and it was clean and not crowded. If jet skis can be rented that is something else they want to do.
In cozumel, we will shop and basically bar hop, Carlos Charlies; Frogs; and Margarittaville.
My daughter wants to do the Mayan Ruins of Tulum tour 75.00, 6.5 to 7 hours but she hasn't found anyone who is will to go get that hot with her yet. My husband has said he would do the Mayan Frontier on Horseback $71 3.5 hours instead if she was interested.
I am looking for a family with a son around the 14 year age and a daughter around the 8 year age, maybe they can get together when we cruise if interested please email me and let me know what you think, we are from the panhandle of florida, please let me know.
