Yes, Captain Marvin's 2-hr Stingray tour is a good choice. We set it up on Internet prior to our Triumph cruise on Apr. 5th. Nice boat, not crowded, they stopped at an interesting snorkelling reef for about twenty minutes, and then on to Stingray city, which is everything it is cracked up to be. Snorkelling equipment is top notch and sanitized. Buses from Captain Marv's headquarters were new and clean. They gave each adult a small "Rum Cake" after the tour, and you got gift shop items for a 10% discount. Bear in mind that Grand Cayman is one hour behind boat time, so if your tour starts @ 11:15am, it will actually be 12:15pm boat time, and you have to make the last tender by 2:30pm GC time (3:30 boat time). Even the 2-hr tour does not leave much time to explore Georgetown--do that first thing when you get there. Captain Marv's is left about 3 blocks when you arrive at the Government dock.

Have Fun, Tim

Captain Marvin's is a good choice. We took the 2 hour 11:15 tour. As Tim said, that is really 12:15 ship time. However, traffic was backed up after we got off their boat and thus we didn't get back to their offices till almost 2 local time. The good thing was that there were about 20 people on the boat while there were about 100 on the boats that were the excursions from the ships. We took our 4 & 7 yr olds and the captain helped take our 7 yr old around in the water which I know would have never happened with a ship's excursion.

Just make sure you take your camcorder and also an underwater camera.

Doug

In the Yucatec Maya language...

The word "Chankanaab" is a combination of the words "chan," which means little, and "kanaab," which means sea.

The letter a is pronounced like the a in father - an "ah" sound.

Two vowels in a row are longer than a single vowel. In any situation, this tends to give the syllable they are in an emphasis.

Therefore, the word "Chankanaab" would be pronounced "chahn - kah - NAHB" with the emphasis on the last syllable.

Cheers,
Michelle B.
