Default St. Thomas Beaches???

We have booked a tour with Godfrey Tours May 5th and we have our choice of going to either Coki Beach, Megans Bay or Sapphire Beach. Which is the best beach for beginning snorkling and swimming?

Thanks for your help,

Mary Kay

Maegens Bay is certainly the most famous, but not necessarily the best beach . There is very little snorkeling and it can get very crowded. My vote would be Coki Beach(where you will find me in 4 weeks). It is located out next to Coral World (a paid attraction). You will not find the crowds of Margens and there is nice "walk in" snorkelling, especially good for the beginner. Saphire is also a nice beach and you will find good snorkelling there as well. My vote , Coki.

From the research I've done, Coki beach sounds like a really beach. I'll be there in Oct!

Coki for snorkeling. Magens for swimming. There is not a reef in Magens Bay and therefor minimal fish, plus a ton of people.

We took Godfrey when were in St. Thomas in March, he is just great! Definitely Coki Beach. That's where we all decided to go. When Godfrey was explaining the choices, he told us that the water was clearer and better snorkeling at Coki Beach. Also, there is a little restaurant with waitresses on the beach, chairs you can rent, and an equipment shack that has snorkels, fins and masks for rent. They also give you milk bones to feed to the fish. If you go to the end of the beach next to Coral World, around the rocks, etc, there are lots of fish to see. Have a great time!
