Default Celebration...Just got off....5/5/03 sailing

We just returned from a fabulous cruise on the newly renovated Celebration. Carnival gave us a fine cruise, excellent service, and the new decor is very modest, unobtrusive and nice. There was minimal vibration. Booked a 1A guarantee and upgraded us to a nice 4D cabin.(Very safe to book this on Carnival from our past experience). If you're sailing from Galveston and have a choice of the Celebration or Jubilee, do yourself a favor and book the Celebration. The ships interior is nicer, a MUCH BETTER cruise director, and the service doesn't even compare! Unfortunatly, Carnival's food still leaves a lot to be desired....I'll answer any questions on this ship...

hey fur! I just got back from the same one. I had a wonderful time. I agree with you about the food. I didn't eat at all the last two days.
It was my first time on a cruise and I didn't know what to expect. I went with my family so I didn't have a *wonderful* time, but I found ways to entertain myself. The beach in Playa Del Carmen was gorgeous. I got my hair braided and everything.
The one thing I was really upset with was the prices of the drinks. Our bar bill was almost 500 dollars for two people. I'd still like to go again though.
Some of the men working on the ship are gorgeous. and everyone working on the ship were so friendly. I just adored one of the bartenders named Savio.

If anyone has any questions about the Celebration just feel free to email me:

Hi! Which dining were you at? We were in the Horizon at 8pm. We were up on the topless deck the first at sea day and a beautiful bronzed god was laying out...looking very fine in his little Speedo's....well, it ended up being the Captain! Called him Capt. Hottie after that! Wasn't he a very young Captain?? Were you with the group from Katy Tx??

I think our dining time was 8 at the Horizon also. But I never ended up going. The first night I was very sea sick and went to bed early and missed dinner, and the other nights my family just ended up eating on the Lido deck. Aww! I can't believe I missed the hottie captain in his speedo! I did get to see him while I was sitting in the hot tub while he was talking to some other men working on the ship. He was wearing swimming trunks, sadly. I wasn't with the group from Katy Tx but there were a ton of them. They were everywhere. I'm from the dfw area. After seeing all those hotties it makes me want to work on a cruise when I get out of college! The showtime dancers were so gorgeous. How many cruises have you been on?

Ahhhh.... so you caught "The Full Monty" show? lol...they should have an entire show dedicated to that .
We've been on 6 cruises....going on our 7th in October, the Norway out of Miami.
You should consider going to work for a cruiseline, I wish I had when I was your age, but I ended up at Disney World, lol.
When's your next cruise??

hey fur - next cruise? wow who knows. hopefully next year. I missed the full monty show. well, i caught the first 10 minutes of it, and all i saw was the Chicago song and the Chorus Line song. and then I left. I missed everything good. Do you live in Tx? I really want to work on a cruiseline when I get out of school and after I work a little. It's the easiest way to save money since everything is pretty much taken care of on the ship. All of my friends and family think it's a cool idea too. Wow, you've been on a lot of cruises. Where all have you been? Which place was your favorite?

jen - I really can't think of any advice I can give you except wear sunblock, lol. I got super burned the first day on the ship. I didn't think I was laying out that long. I really hope you and your boyfriend have a wonderful time. I did. A couple I met on the boat said they went on a snorkeling, biking, kayaking excursion that they said was amazing. I can't remember what it's called, it's going to be in the paper thing of excursions at the desk, but they went there when we stopped in Calica/Playa Del Carmen. I went to the beach excursion while we were in Playa and it's was gorgeous there. oh and don't forget to go to the Showtime shows and take lots of pictures of the hottie dancers for me, lol. have lots of fun while you're there!

..I'm peeling as we speak...nasty! And I used sunblock! But that many hours in the sun and water you're bound to get a ton of sun! We've been to Freeport Bahamas 5x(some by yacht), Castaway Cay 2x, all over the Bahamas actually...lol, Cozumel 5 times, Playa Del Carmen 2x, Belize, Roatan Honduras, (our Fav), Costa Maya (just beautiful!),Grand Cayman 3x, sailed from Galveston, Tampa, and Port Canaveral...doing the Eastern Carribean in Oct. Best cruiseline to date Celebrity.

We always rent a car and do our own excursions...more economical and much more advenursome! We do a lot of research on where we're going and what we want to do, map it out, and have a solid plan by the time our cruise arrives. We've done so many repeats that we can get around blindfolded in many ports!

fur, i am so incredibly jealous of you right now! I've always wanted to visit the Bahamas. Everyone who has been there have said it's gorgeous there. Is Costa Maya like the Mayan Sun Coast? I stayed on the Mayan Sun Coast a couple of years ago at the CopaCabana and it was so beautiful there. I'm peeling too. It's the worst when its on your face.
How is it cruising in the winter? other than it being much cheaper...is it still as nice. weather wise?

We've always been very lucky when cruiseing in the winter and had excellent temps in the Carribbean...I love going in Jan. for my birthday. The Bahamas are beautiful...best done by private boat so you can island hop and get the real flavor of the islands...lots of cruises go there, hopefully you'll get a chance to visit there soon!

I got 14 of my rolls of fijlm back from the cruise...still more to develope...wonder if you're in the backdrop of any of them???lol

hey maybe I am. If you see a young woman with short blonde hair...thats me. 14 rolls of film?!?! That's a lot. Did you get any pictures of the hottie dancers? If you do you have to post them or email them to me. I have told everyone here about them but I didn't take any pictures of them so they don't know what they look like. They think I've made them up
well if you find any of me or the dancers email me
