Today Carnival Cruise Lines announced a brand new class of ships inspired by their recent partner brand, Princess Cruises. The new class of ships was reflecting of those ships of the "Sun" class of ships.
"We are greatly excited about this new class of ships, the “Sun” class of ships has been shown to have great interest to the public, and we are excited to create a Carnival class of their own," says Carnival's spokesperson Jennifer de la Cruz.
The new Carnival version of the "Sun" class of ships will be called the "Olympia" class. These more elegant and upscale ships will have upgraded amenities, similar to those on our partner cruise line Princess Cruises.
The first "Olympia" class ship will be the Carnival Olympia, which is currently scheduled to be built by fall of 2005 by Fincantieri shipbuilders. The Carnival Olympia will be the 1 of 3 ships in the “Olympia” class of ships.
Carnival, the worlds leading cruise line currently operates Costa, Cunard, Holland America, Princess, Seabourn, and Windstar Cruises. They have also recently joined companies with Princess P&O Cruises.
