Default Soda cards

We will be on the Carnival Pride in 2 weeks, and are going to get a soda card. We got it on our last cruise and remember the soda being canned. Is the soda included with the card canned or fountain? I called carnival and the woman said she couldnt really remember but she thinks its fountain. So if you have recently been on a carnival cruise and got the card, is the soda fountain or can? Thanks

Rob

It is for fountain drinks got from the bars, the bartender will come around at dinner also. We were on the 7 day and it was $29.95 plus 15% grat. Well worth it. We got a soda everytime we walked by a bar! We just sailed in Febuary, so I am pretty sure they still have the soda card. Have Fun!

Does anyone know the price for a soda card on a 12 day cruise? We are on the Spirit to Hawaii in September and we are considering a soda card purchase. Thanks!

We just returned from the Pride last week...the soda is canned....only Coke products. Well worth the price though! Great cruise, Pride is the best Carnival ship we've been on. Service has improved.

The soda thing is an odd thing on Carnival. For some reason they do not use any fountain products. It's all cans or plastic bottles on Carnival ships.

You can get cans of soda with the fountain card??? If that's true, that the best news!! I'm a big time soda drinker, but fountain soda is always somewhat flat... Yuck! If carnival gives out cans, I will definitely get the soda card!!!

No, they don't give out the cans. They pour the pop from a can into a sometimes small glass. Never figured it out , myself.

What about tea? Is the tea canned? I don't like carbonated drinks and prefer tea. Do I need to get a soda card? Thanks, Denise

I have good news and bad news for you, Denise.

The good news: tea is free! There is tea available at all times on the Lido deck, and you can order it with your meals as well.

The bad news: it isn't very good. I find the lemonade much tastier.

Cheers,

The soda is out of cans, but they do not give you a can of soda. Its in a glass.

The card costed 29.95 for a seven day plus 15% grat.
I think it was like 18.00 plus grat on 4 day

You could call Carnival for the 12 day to find out how much it is. Looks like it ends up being about 4.50 a day. Hope that helps. It is well worth it if you drink alot of soda.

Carnival's policy is that each guest must have their own card. They only allow you to get one drink at a time to attempt to keep that in check. Our cards on our last trip were checked each time, but I don't know that when we were separated the bar tender checked if it was mine or my wife's cards - it'd probably be even tougher with kids cards. It was nice having the card at dinner (I don't really like iced tea), and by the second night the bar server was bringing me a soda without even looking at the card! Since I can drink 4-5 sodas (these are glasses afterall) throughout the course of the long days on ship (and 1 or two during dinner) the card definitely saved me money. A gratuity is built into the card, but we usually tipped some anyway (and gave a separate tip to the bar server who worked our section of the dining room).

Sad to say only Coke products. You can bring a small amount of pop on board with you. Diet Pepsi is my favorite and I will be bringing a small amount onboard with I sail.
