Default New years

Does anyone have any experience with carnival cruises on new years eve?....Were they worth the extra cost of cruising during this time?...I'm thinking right after Christmas till after New Years......and how is the best way to find out which ships are sailing on these holiday dates. I will contact my TA eventually, but for now I would like to just get an idea..thanks

I took my 2 children (20@23) and their fiances on the Carnival Imagination over New Year's 2002. IMHO it was not worth the extra $'s. We went and had a great time but would have had just as good as time at less $'s. It just worked out that , that was the only time all of us could get together. 2 weeks earlier would have been half the cost and just as much fun.

I've done several New Years Eve cruises; and when we went with RCCL we had a great time; but we went with Carnival a year and a half ago, and they didn't even give us free champagne, as RCCL did. We felt we got our monies worth with Royal Caribbean but not with Carnival but it's a great way to spend NY Eve. I always thought the extra money was worth it. We did RCCL for the milinieum NY Eve cruise and saw their fireworks display and it was great. We'll keep doing NY Eve cruises, but just not wtih Carnival.
Carnival just tried to sell everyone bottles of champagne at midnight instead of giving out free drinks. I thought for the price of the cruise they could have given out drinks at midnight........ Happy Cruising......
