Default dressing for dinner on Sensation?

We are going on first ever cruise on Sensation 7/26. We have no idea how to dress for diiner in the dining room on both formal and casual nights. Is it true there are no shorts allowed even on casual day?

If you look in the back of your Carnival brochure, it spells it out for you plus there is usually more info in with your tickets when they arrive.

From the brochure: On formal night a dark suit or formal attire is suggested. Dress code for other evenings range from sport coat and tie to casual resort wear. Shorts and T-shirts are not permitted in the dining room during dinner.

You can wear shorts during the day to the buffet or dining room for breakfast or lunch.
For casual nights, I wear slacks/print blouses or a two piece matching pants/top. I've seen guys in nice pants with polo shirts or short sleeve sport shirt on casual nights.

I don't go way overboard on formal night anymore. I have dressy black pants and one night I wear a very sparkly top with them and the other I have a very dressy beaded bolero type jacket I wear with the same pants. I've never felt out of place, no matter what cruise line I'm on.

Hope this helps!

Susie

No shorts in the main dining rooms during the evening meals.

Dressing for regular and formal night dining seems to be in the eye of the beholder. We sailed the Imagination recently and on a regular night, I did see shorts, jeans and T-shirts. I don't think they turned anyone away. On the formal night, I saw dockers and polos. I wore my military dress uniform and my wife wore a formal gown. When they said formal, we wore formal. We were on a 5-day cruise with one formal night. We took advantage of it.

Have a great cruise.

And you can wear the same on both formal nights. We also like to dress up. We never wore shorts or jeans and a t-shirt. On casual nights, dockers and polo shirt for the guys and nice sun dress or skirt/blouse for the gals. This was our opportunity to look nice and we always dressed the part. Majority of folks are like that while others cop a "I paid for this, it's my vacation and I'll dress the way I want to". Just follow the guidelines they set forth for you.
