Re: Best things to do in Martinique
Alfred - was in Martinique this past January on the Legend....what I did was the 4x4 off road Jungle safari tour....we went up through Fort de France, did some off roading, went to a banana plantation, through the rain forest (absolutely wonderful!) to the volcano and around down to a rum distillery (some beautiful scenery and some pretty good rum too!) and then drove down the coast back to Fort de France. I booked it through the ship. Fort de France is not a very tourist friendly place (no dedicated tourist shopping area, etc.) and the duty free shops at the pier are not very good to say the least. This tour was wonderful as we negoiated about half of the northern part of the island and it was beautiful!
Carnival Breeze with Ray B and Aerogirl 5/4/14!
I wouldn't suggest the regular bus tour. It was kind of dull. We have done a 4x4 Jeep Safari tour before and had a great time (in Barbados) so I bet the one in Martinique is pretty good too.
The tours there were all pretty expensive, compared to the other islands, so be prepared for that.
