How far is parking area at Gulfport (Grand) from Terminal

Hi -

I have a ? about the distance from Grand Parking Lot to Terminal for check-in....

We're going on first cruise - going on Conquest 6/29/03......

Just wondering if we will be taking a shuttle from the parking lot to the terminal or is it within walking distance?

Also, once we park and check in how long is wait before boarding normally? We plan to get to pier to check bags at around 10 or 10:30 am .....

I heard that it can be pretty chaotic, but I would just like to know the exact procedure and what to expect.......

Hello Elizabeth

You need to drive up to the ship, drop off the luggage, then go back to the Grand Gulfport Casino, to begin processing to board the ship, the cruise line will then bus you back to the ship, and during this time, your luggage will be going through the screening process.

Also 10-1030 might be a little too early, there will still be passenger on board from the previous cruise, you might start boarding at 1pm, they will be serving a lite lunch on Deck 9, in the Buffet area.

My husband and I sailed the Conquest on June 8th. We got to the Grand Casino around 10:20, there were people out there telling us where to go and what to do. We unloaded the luggage directly infront of the parking garage. I walked the luggage into the building while he parked the car. He came in to meet me when he was done and within 20 minutes we were signed in and ready to go, it was around 11:00. They told us to sit in the casino and wait for our zone number to be called. We were on the second bus to go out to the ship and we loaded at 11:50 and were at the ship and finishing the boarding process and were on board for 12:30.
