Just back from a cruise 6/7 and while going through security check at airport a couple in front of us had 2 scissors in their carry ons and they were taken by airport security.

Just pack them in your suitcase and you'll have no problem.

Can you believe that before 911 the FAA allowed a pocket knife that had a blade 4 inches or less to be brought on a commerical airliner. Have times changed since then.

Re: scissors?

We went to tahiti and asked if we could take a swiss army knife. We were told that we could take almost anything that wasn't going to explode as long as it was in our checked in suitcase. We were also advise that maybe we should tell them when we checked in. We did that and there was no problem.
