How do I get from Orlando Intl to Port Canaveral?

How much does it cost to get from the Orlando airport to Port Canaveral, and how is the best/cheapest way to get there?

Cheapest way is to take the shuttle to the port. They should be there from the ship to pick you up and just tip the driver. Its about 50 miles to the port. Been there and done that ... Jim

If there is a group of you it may be less expensive to get a shuttle. We had 6 people and paid $110 round trip (with the cruise transfers it would have been $180). If you want the name of the shuttle we used, just email me.

We rented a car from Avis. It was $37. Driving to the Port was easy. We dropped our luggage off at the ship, then drove about 1/2 mile to the Avis place. Returned the car and their shuttle took us straight to the ship. We arrived the night before and wanted to be able to eat out and get some bottled water. We stayed in a Days Inn near the airport for $30 something. There were no restaurants nearby except an IHOP so we were really glad we had the car.

Coming back from the cruise we just took the Mears shuttle. But it ended up costing more than the car did.

Make sure your driver takes the 528 (Beeline Expressway) East. One road straight to the port.

Yea, take the Beeline. Its a toll road, but well worth it. It shortens your trip by like 1/2

And something to watch for on the Beeline. There are eagles' nests perched on tall pole-type structures as you arrive on Merritt Island. Every now and then, you can see the heads of young eaglets poking above the nests. They're part of the Audubon sanctuary on the island.
