What time arrive at the port to board ?

I'm cruising out of NY on the Pride to Bermuda. I just got the tickets (WOOHOO). They say that embarkation starts at 1PM. Though I think I've heard that they actually begin earlier than that. Anyone have an idea how early I can board ? Thanks.

Yes sometimes they do begin early. We like to get there about an hour or so prior. When we go early we are able to eat lunch on board the ship and explore it before the masses come aboard. Happy sailing!

Does embarkation mean the time boarding begins or the time the ship leaves the dock?

On the Triumph our embarkation took place at 1:30pm but they allowed me and hubby on earlier but wouldn't allow us to go to our cabins til 1:30pm. It was ok cause they had a whole buffet lunch out for us! YUM

We just sailed on the Paradise and we arrived at the port at 11:30am and got right on the ship....by 12:30 we were in our cabin. It was great! When I had called CCL, they told me 1:30pm was when we should arrive...but had we waited, we would have been in a huge crowd. The Main Desk at the hotel knew to have the transfer shuttle there at 11am.

We just got back from a cruise on Legend out of NYC and we got to the pier at noon and were in our cabin by 1pm. If you are arriving by cab or car the traffic near the pier is horrible. Allow lots of time!
