Dave...We were thinking of driving over from Orlando Sat. AM. I heard that she won't be in port until Fri. evening. Does anyone have any arrival info? We're not sailing until Nov. 8,
so we'll have plenty of time to get a sneak peek before then. We're just 45 min. away. May the GLORY be with you!! Jack
She's officially scheduled to arrive at 3:30 pm Friday but I would get there a little earlier if possible. They'll start letting the public in the parking area around 2:30pm. When I went to see the arrival of the Conquest in New Orleans (she had sailed from Italy two weeks earlier) last November she arrived about a half hour earlier than the press releases had indicated. It was an awesome sight to see people lining the banks of the Mississippi River, waving at the crew of the Conquest and having them wave back. She was surrounded by fireboats shooting plumes of water into the air and sounded a long horn salute just as she passed in front of the Riverwalk Mall. Everyone clapped! If you're close enough to go see her arrive today I would highly recommended.
Just got home after watching the Glory sail up the Port Canaveral channel with an array of fireboats and helicopters accompanying her into the port. What a sight! She is really huge, not by length so much as height. This ship really reaches for the clouds! I heard today that by next year Carnival will have 2 more Conquest-class ships in service (one will be the Carnival Liberty and I didn't get the name of the other one). May the Glory be with you! We'll be with the Glory on 11/8/03,

Donna et al,
There were 2 small helicopters that hovered and circled near the Glory, fore & aft. It looked at times that they were going to land on the ship, they flew so close. The whole scene was awesome, with all the attendant ceremony ... the people on the beach at Jetty Park cheering and the crewmembers waving from the vessel. And in the midst of it all, this beautiful ship! I hope some other CMs from the area were able to get to the port today
to see this spectacle.
