Default Skippers Club

We're booked in Cat 11 for the Glory on 9/27/03 and we're told it automatically allows membership to the Skippers Club. Does anyone know what this entitles us to? The only thing we've found so far is priority boarding.

The one and only thing it entitles you to is priority check-in.

But that can be a MAJOR perk depending on what time you arrive at the port area. Just tell the first Carnival person you see that you have a suite and are wondering where the skippers club check-in is and they should help you out.

Thanks for the info. We was hoping there would be more benefits. We're getting married on the Glory so we have priority boarding anyway.

Hi Christopher!

We just returned from an absolutely idyllic cruise from New York to Maritime Canada on the Carnival Victory (7/26/03 sailing date). We also booked a Category 11; you will absolutely love it! Ours was so large and luxurious, and the jacuzzi tub, large bathroom and long balcony are just so heavenly that you may find you spend more time in your stateroom than you ever imagined!

We sailed out of New York City, so our experience might not apply to you. However, we used the Skippers Club and it still took an hour to receive our Sail-n-Sign cards. There was no waiting area for Skippers Club in NYC; it was just a seperate, roped-off area that was also the designated area for handicapped passengers. The lines there were every bit as long and uncomfortable as the other lines in the terminal.

I hope your experience with the Skippers Club is more positive out of Port Canaveral. Since the NYC sailing season is so short, I imagine Carnival was not able to construct a seperate area in the terminal, but I'm sure they did for Glory's homeport!! :-)

Our cruise was absolutely perfect in every other way, however! I hope you have a wonderful trip, and congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

- Jen

Thanks, Jen. You given us even more to look forward too. We can't wait.

As for the Skipper's Club, I just finanlly received an email from Carnival who said:

The Skipper's Club Program is a unique and exclusive service designed to
afford the guests sailing in deluxe suite accommodations with special
registration and boarding privileges. An Embarkation Staff member will
check-in the Skipper's Club guests, thus avoiding all lines.

This service is offered to guests who have PURCHASED and are traveling
in suites in categories 11 and 12 ONLY, in the following ports of
embarkation:

. Miami . Port Canaveral . New Orleans .
Galveston
. Tampa . Los Angeles . New York .
San Juan
