Often slightly cheaper to book with the locals BUT, you have no guarentees and if you are delayed and miss the ship, tough. Something to think about. Unless you are pretty savy while in a foriegn country, speak the language, and know the area and port, it is usually better to stick with the ships tours IMHO.
We cruised on the Pride two times last year! We love this ship!
They do have hair dryers in the room but you have to hold the button down all the time to keep it running. I guess that must be a safety feature. I bring my own. I have a travel hair dryer which folds down very small.
