Default Carnival Glory cabins

We are planning on a booking a 9/04 sailing on Carnival Glory. Anyone have any experience with five people (2 adults and 3 kids) in a cat 6A ocean view stateroom? How are they set up? Upper & lower berths, pull out sofa? We were originally going to get two ajoining cabins, but the 1 large cabin is about $700 cheaper! Thats a big difference.

Any info would be great!

We have not been on Carnival since 1997, not sure what to expect!

By looking at Conquest's layout of the ship, it should be the same for the Glory. The best I saw for a 6A is twin beds that convert to a king with single convertible and one upper bunk, you need to look for a certain symbol which is a black square, those rooms will have what I described above. Have your travel agent try and get you one of these rooms for you, it is probably going to be a little tight.

That would be correct, on the Glory and Conquest it is a four person max. Sucks for those of us that have 5 in the family. But, it would be tight anyway!

Why did I think they had what they call "family staterooms" or was I dreaming??? :-)

Well,
What they have done on Glory and Conquest is have some connecting cabins...they are on main and riviera decks. you would still have to pay full freight on the first four people, but thirds would be at the lower extra person rate. No balcony cabins are connecting however.

Well, my travel agent did tell me Carnival will allow five people in a CAT 6A cabin, but I figured it would be tight. And we have thought about getting the connecting cabins, but its about a $1200 differnce. And from what I understand the family suites are even more than getting two connecting cabins. Not sure what we will do now! But I do think for as much time as you spend in the cabin I would rather save the $1200. Plus, our kids are small and do not spend time primping and so forth in the bathroom! Now if you have teenagers, I can see where this would be a problem!

I wouldn't say 'lots'. <G> CCL has the largest 'standard' cabins in that they are 185 sq ft but putting 5 in a cabin is very tight and if they use a rollaway the cabin basically turns into one large mattress. <G>
