Hi.. Leaving on the 23 of august on the carnival glory and wanted to know if anyone had any information on the parking problem with this ship.. We have always just parked at the terminal and walked on board... We could have a family member drop us off if that would make it better, but have never done that before either, so dont know where to go to be dropped off or picked up.. Any information would be greatly appreciated..
Hi Danielle... It will just be my husband and myself... we have twin sons that are moving into college the next two weeks then we leave on the cruise... sure hope no hurricanes come around!!.. hope u and ur mom have a great time!!!
From what I've read on this board and others and the Port Authority site.....Glory is too big for Carnival's dock so it is "parking "at a Royal Caribbean dock for now. The problem is that the Carnival Glory Passengers still have to park in the Carnival parking lot. (3/4 mile away) The port is using busses to shuttle passengers between the pier and the parking lot and it is a mess. Long lines, no one to help with luggage and the like. If you are not parking at the port you have no problem!! We are driving down from VA a day early and staying at the Radisson at the Port. They have "park and cruise". $109 for a room and parking while on the cruise and a shuttle to the pier. Not bad when parking at the pier is $10 a day anyway! I think there is a Hampton Inn that also has a park and cruise w/shuttle deal too. A new parking deck is being built that is supposed to fix the problem. I think I read on the Port Authority site (for Port Canaveral) that it is due to be finished in Oct or Nov. Hope this helps explain theproblems folks are having.
Will also be on board Glory 8/23! Parking is still a problem but Carnival has responded and the situation seems to have improved. They've added more shuttles and are providing bottled water in the lot while people wait for transport to ship at embarkation and vice versa. I also have the address to write to post-cruise to be refunded the parking fee by Carnival as there way of making up for the confusion and hassle.
I also read a post about being refunded for parking at Port Canaveral while on the Glory. The only problem is that I can't seem to find where I read it. Have you tried to get you money back and were you sucessful? If you would please send me the address where I can write for the refund.
