Default Conquest - Jamaica

Okay, In January I am going on a family cruise on the Conquest.

So far from reading this board:

In Grand Cayman do Captain Marvin's. Any idea on which tour? The half day 10-1 looked good. The full day looked good too, but I always get worried about making it back to the ship in time. (Ends at 3:00 ship leaves at 4:00.)

In Cozumel it looks like I will plan on doing the swiming with dolphins.

Now the big question is what to do in Jamaica? Everyone on here seems to say it is a hole. I need ideas that are comperable to my Cozumel and Grand Cayman thoughts. Thanks.

I have read that it is too far (3 hrs round trip on the bus) to go to Dunn's River Falls. My sister went horseback riding on the beach and thought it was the greatest. I have also heard that the Martha Brae river rafting is good.

In Jamaica book Peat Taylor Tours. For $30 p/p he will show you Dunn's River Falls, Fern Gulley and gives a great tour. This price also includes admission to the Falls. He will bring you either back to the ship for lunch or can recommend a variety of great places to dine on the island. Have fun!

You have Dunns River Falls, One of the party boats, Golf, Horseback riding, touring the Rose Plantation, Marth Brea River Rafting, Margaritaville, etc. etc. Lots to do in Jamacia. Also, not everyone thinks it is a bad place, many of us including myself love Jamacia.

Just got off the Conquest... did the Jungle River Tubing and the Wet and Wild Party tour... both were eh... Last year we went to Ochos Rios and did the falls, which was amazing. I know it's a long ride from the pier but it's worth it. If you book through Carnival they put you on a Coach bus so at least you are traveling in comfort!
