Hi, Tony. The "value" all depends on your preference and what you are willing to pay for it. I'm not sure what you are being quoted but in my experience, the 6A (outside) has generally run about $25-30 more per person than the 4A (inside) on the 3 or 4 day cruises. In my opinion, it is worth the additional charge for the oceanview. The Riviera deck is pretty low on the ship and the window is about 2 x 3 feet so the view is okay but not spectacular. For instance, while in port, your view may be the side of another ship! Just remember that you will not be in the cabin that much.
I would book a 6A "guarantee". If you are not familiar, this guarantees you an oceanview on the Riviera deck or higher. The only downside is you do not get your cabin number until you arrive to check in and it takes a little extra time to check your bags with the porters as they have to tag your luggage again.
I hope this helps. I just wanted you to see both sides. Enjoy your cruise!

I have had Riviera oceanview for both my cruises. Personally I think it is worth the extra, just to have that natural daylight and be able to see the moon on the water at night. I wouldn't want to be cooped up without a view, but like I said, natural light and seeing the water is important to me...
We always book the 6A guarantee because Mrs. Thomas gets claustrophobic without a window. But for myself, I'd rather have the savings for an inside so I had more casino cash. Yeah, the window is nice to look out at the ocean but there are plenty of places on the ship to do this.
We booked a 6A guarantee and were upgraded by our TA to an 8A guarantee. We had a balcony, and I don't think I'll ever settle for less again. The balcony was a nice place to have breakfast and watch sunrises and sunsets privately.
