Elation-info on ship

Thinking of taking the Elation out of Galveston this summer. Can anyone comment on this ship. We sailed a few years ago on Inspiration and I understand this is a sister ship.

Re: Elation-info on ship

I have sailed twice on the Elation, both times leaving from Los Angeles. It is a very nice ship. It has all the added extras... sushi bar & 24hr pizza. I have been on 1 of her sister ships and the lay outs seem to be the same but the decor is different on all of them. Both our cruises on her have been great and the decor wasn't to over the board with loud presentation. Hope that helps. Have fun!!!

We will be on the Elation in Dec.. I'd love to hear comments about the new 7 day route out of Galveston. ( the transition cruise is in progress now, bringing the ship from LA)

I was on Elation this Feb. It was our 3rd in the fantasy class. I thought the decor was the ugliest of all but otherwise she has everything the other ships have.

She is the newest of the class of ships. She is also the first ship with the izod propellers that pull/push - opposite of the normal whatever that is.... haha Anyway it is a great ship and we had a great time on her out of Los Angelos in 2001. :) Can't wait to sail her out of Galveston - glad she is so close to home now! Sushi at the Champaign bar each night and $1 wine tasting at the Champagne bar - I NEED TO CRUISE AGAIN!! I'm having withdrawals after 4 months! :) :) Debbie

Are there hair dryers on the Elation?

Re: Elation-info on ship

You have to obtain the hair dryers at the purser's desk for a $10 deposit which you will get back upon it's return. The dryers are rather lame so if you have long, thick hair bring your own.
