Default ST. JOHN

Leaving on the Glory, October 4th. I've been to ST. Thomas before, so I was considering riding over to ST. John this time. Any suggestions? What'sit like?

We just got back from an Eastern Car. cruise that stopped at St. Thomas, and we booked Jester Sailing for a half-day sail to St. John which was GORGEOUS. We were at a private beach all to ourselves for some great snorkeling (and that was with cloudy water due to Hurricane Fabian). That sail was the best thing on our whole cruise - great food and drink, music and sun. Captain Jim is really good at taking care of his guests! His website is www.sailjester.com He also has full-day sails which we now wish we had done!

For more details, see my review of the Paradise on the Reader Reviews page under my real name, Rebecca.

The best thing about going to St. Thomas (and we were there for a week several years ago) is St. John....take the ferry over..you can take the bus and ask the driver to let you off at a beach...and find out when he is coming back.. St. John is absolutely beautiful...

If you go to St.John make sure you go to Cinamion Bay because you dont have to pay to get in and the beach has barely anyone on it.They alos have a bath house not far from the beach which is very nice.If you go to Trunk bay you have to pay to get in and the beaches are usually crowded
Best wishes

Is the Jester sail a shore excursion or did you do this on your own?

We did it on our own. On that day it was just the two of us, which was great and very romantic, but he can take up to 6. He is very accomodating about cruise guests needing to be back to the ship, etc. A great time!

bueatiful bueatiful bueatiful.

We were in St Thomas in Feb and we took the taxi to the red hook ferry, rented a jeep and toured the island ourselves for 1/2 day....it was awesome! I would recommend going over there to Trunk Bay too.
