Default Carnival excursion prices...

Howdy from Texas! Does anyone know a website that has the price of excursions on the Carnival Elation to: Progresso/Merida, Cozumel, and Belize City?I had it once but can't seem to find it. Thanx!

I was looking for the same thing for my cruise and couldn't find anything. I was told to e-mail Carnival for these. When I did I received a quick response with all of the info. on all excursions (along with the price). Hope this helps!

You will have to go to the CCL website to view the tours and you will have to request pricing from them. I don't know of any other website that has that information and if they did it would be highly suspect as the available tours and pricing does change making accuracy almost impossible. Contact your CCL rep and request this info and they will get it to you. If you have some specific tours in mind I am sure that someone here on the board can tell you what the tour is about and the approximate priceing..

Shore tours are available for purchase on board at the Shore Excursion Desk. All tours, descriptions and pricing are subject to change and may not be

available on every ship and/or saildate. The duration of the tours are

approximate times only. Slightly lower prices for children may be offered on some tours. A child is considered 2-12 years of age unless otherwise

noted; with few exceptions, infants 2 and under are free of charge if they do not occupy a separate seat.




PROGRESO/MERIDA, MEXICO

Beach Blast Bike Tour

Duration: 3 1/2 hours

Enjoy a unique and exciting bike adventure along the wide-open beaches of
Progreso! A short bus ride from the pier takes you to the seaside town of
Progreso, after a short orientation you will be off exploring the ocean
front by bike. Ride through the streets of this traditional Mexican town
before heading off road onto the beach. Enjoy the gulf breeze as you ride
along the beach taking in the sights. A stop will be made to feed the sea-
gulls before making your way back to the ocean front drive
(malecon) where
you will pass various sidewalk vendors, stopping for a complimentary drink at a local restaurant. Here, you will be able to relax by the sea, take a walk along the beach or even go for a swim before riding back into town for your return transportation to the pier. Note: Guests who choose to stay in town to do some shopping, must make their way back to the pier at their own expense. Maximum weight is 240 pounds; there will be a chase vehicle that can carry your belongings while you ride.





Chichen-Itza Mayan Ruins Tour

Chichen-Itza is one of the most important archeological sites on the American continent and was once the home of the great Mayan Empire. This Mayan site was the chosen city of Kulkulcan and the remains of its perfect construction and awesome monuments were left as a reminder of the incredible Mayan Culture. Your journey begins with a scenic and informative 2 1/2 hour bus ride. Upon arrival at the ruins, you will be led through the legendary city, which

extends over 6 square miles and contains hundreds of structures throughout the area. You will explore the pyramid of Kulkulcan, the Ball Court, the

mystical cenote, the Temple of the Warriors and the observatory, just to

name a few. A box lunch will be provided to you as you board the motor coach for your return journey to the ship. Note: This is an active tour involving a lot of walking and stair climbing. The Mexican government charges a $5 fee for the use of video equipment inside the ruins (no tripods). Hats, sun-

screen, sunglasses and bottled water are highly recommended. There are no rest stops on the drive to the ruins; however, buses are equipped with

bathrooms.





Colonial Izamal

The Mayans originally founded the Yucatan's most perfect example of a Spanish Colonial city, Izamal in the fifth century A.D. The Spanish Conquest brought friars who used the religious significance of Izamal to their advantage by building a huge convent on top of one of the main Mayan pyramids. Your tour of Izamal will focus on the Spanish Colonial aspects of the city. An
approxi-
mate 90-minute drive takes you to the city where you will first tour the

majestic Franciscan convent. Started by the infamous Friar, Diego de Landa in 1553, it was completed by Friar Francisco de la Torre in 1561. The central Atrium of the convent is the second largest in the world and the stairways on the north and south sides were added so that the wealthy Europeans could
enter the building in style. Enjoy an authentic Yucatan lunch before touring
the town in the horse drawn carriages, (known here as Victorias) passing by
such sights as the Izamal City Hall, which dates from the 18th century and is
the largest building of its kind in the Yucatan. You will also see cannons on

Dzibilchaltun Mayan Ruins

Located approximately 20 kilometers from Puerto Progreso, the archaeological
site of Dzibilchaltun (the locals pronounce it, dZeeble-TOON) is one of the
most important ceremonial centers of the Mayan world. Although hardly as
heavily visited as Chichen Itza, the name of this site means "The Place where
there is Writing on the Stones" and it is the most ancient Mayan site and one
of the largest. The site features many very important buildings as well as
one of the most important Archeo-astronomical phenomena during the solstice
and the equinox. Enjoy a visit to the quaint New Mayan World Museum, which
houses many very beautiful pieces. There is also a large sinkhole, called
"Cenote de X'Lacah" in which you can enjoy a refreshing swim after touring the ruins. This tour is ideal for those who want to experience the thrill of exploring a Mayan Ruin without investing the entire day as required by the distance of the other locations. Note: It is recommended that you wear

haciendas dating back to the late 1800's. From the pier, you will have a

short orientation before being assigned to your jeep and hitting the road to explore the secrets of the Yucatan. Pass through the picturesque village of Progreso before leaving civilization behind in favor of scenic marshlands and mangroves on your way to the haciendas. Pass through some sleepy local villages before veering off the paved road to your first destination, an

abandoned hacienda. Stretch your legs and learn the history behind these

once magnificent structures that flourished during the late 19th century. Getting back into the jeeps, you will proceed deeper into the savannas of Mexico arriving at a beautifully restored hacienda. Explore the beautifully manicured grounds, take a ride on the horse-drawn train for a quick

Kayak Adventure

Merida City Overview and Shopping

Having razed the Mayan city of T'ho, the Spanish conquistador, Francisco de Montejo salvaged the debris and quarried the local pyramids for stone to

construct the new city. The resurrected city named Merida was christened in 1542 and a unique culture has evolved from Mayan roots, Spanish colonialism and long isolation. This culture is reflected everywhere, from the character of its architecture, cuisine and people. After a 45-minute ride, you will begin to explore the highlights of this spectacular city. Montejo's boulevard inspired by France's Champs D'else, the Cathedral built in 1774 from stones that once belonged to the pyramid of Xbacluum-Chaan, the Monument to the
coun-
try which took 11 years to complete, the House of Montejo built in 1549 and the 19th century Government palace to name a few. Approximately 45 minutes will be reserved for shopping at the Bazaar in the main plaza before heading back to Progreso.





Progreso Beach Break

At the base of the world's longest pier, Puerto Progreso is a sleepy little fishing village that it just being discovered now that cruise ships have

started arriving regularly. Explore the history of this quaint village and enjoy some true Mexican relaxation on the beach. An open deck bus will

drive you past all the points of interest while your guide entertains you with the colorful background of each. You will be taken to the main square of Progreso and go up to the open terrace on the second floor of the Sol y Mar Restaurant. Here you can do as you wish; the terrace has lounge chairs and little "palapas" for lounging in the sun or the shade and a domestic

open bar is at your disposal as you sway to the gentle rhythms of the live tropical music. A short walk across the street and you are on the beach

staring at the Gulf of Mexico! Lounge on the beach, go for a swim, walk in the sand or just stay at the bar, it's your choice. featuring the tropical and mysterious atmosphere of Punta Sur Ecological
Park. Your exclusive adventure begins on the pier as you board a specially
designed all-terrain truck and head off towards Punta Sur. Crossing between
a fresh water lagoon and the ocean, you may spot some of the locals, inclu-
ding crocodiles and different types of tropical birds. Your experience will
continue as you cross through mangroves and short tropical jungle before
visiting the Punta Sur lighthouse. Here, you will learn the history of the
lighthouse and have some great photo opportunities before heading to the
secluded white sandy "Selva Baja" beach. Enjoy a swim in the protected waters, a stroll along the sand or snorkel right from the beach. Your guide will keep
you informed along the way, by explaining the area's intricate Eco System and
pointing out some rare plant life and helping you to identify some of the

Atlantis Submarine

This 48-passenger submarine will take you between 60' and 100' below the
ocean's surface in order to explore the wonders of "Chankanaab", part of
the world's second largest reef. Chankanaab's underwater marine park was
established in order to protect the delicate balance of coral reefs, not to
mention countless species of tropical fish that call these reefs home. Until
now, only divers were able to explore this unique attraction but now you
can see all of this without ever getting wet! After a short bus ride to the
pier, you will board a U.S. Coast Guard-certified submarine and tour the
ocean in dry, air-conditioned comfort.





Beach Buggy and Snorkel Combo

Others may try to imitate it but this is the original! This excursion is
exclusive to Carnival Cruise Lines and will show you some of Cozumel's most
beautiful areas in a customized buggy and take you snorkeling over one of the
island's best reefs. From the pier, you will head off in your customized
buggy, making your first stop at one of the local beaches where you will have
approximately one hour to snorkel, viewing a wide variety of colorful fish
and beautiful coral formations. Jumping back in your buggy, it's time to take
off around the island to the natural rock formations known as El Mirador.
From here, your caravan makes its way to a secluded beach along the west

the site will be decided the day of the dive. Refreshments will be served at

Cozumel Bike Adventure

Cozumel Highlights and Shopping

Cozumel is the largest island in the Mexican Caribbean and is anxiously

awaiting the opportunity to show off her culture, history, and scenic beauty as well as inviting you along for a little shopping! Once a sleepy little island, Cozumel is now the most important cruise ship destination in Mexico
and you will see the whole island departing from the cruise ship pier. Enjoy
your guides informative narration as you pass the southern resort area,
arriving at Cedral, the oldest settlement in Cozumel. Cedral features the island's first church as well as a small but signifcant ancient Mayan ruin
that you will have a chance to see. Your guide will explain the history of
the island as you travel east, passing some of the island's natural beauty.
Arriving at El Mirador, you will have a great photo opportunity looking out
over the unusual limestone rock formations. Pass by some of the residential
areas before arriving downtown where you will be able to visit the Cozumel
Museum and also take advantage of Cozumel's recommended shopping program with
some free time to visit the many stores. Note: Buses will return to the ship
from downtown at a designated time. Guests who wish to stay downtown longer
will return to the ship at their own expense.





Deep Sea Fishing

The nutrient rich Caribbean waters that surround the island of Cozumel support
a vast array of sport fish, providing exceptional fishing opportunities year
round. Sport fisherman from arround the world try their luck in these waters, searching for a prize Blue, Black, or White Marlin. Tuna, Sierra, Dorado,
Wahoo and Barracuda are all common catch in the area, so bring your sense of
adventure and a little luck with you. You will board one of the six 31'
Island Hoppers right from the pier and head out to the area reporting the
most activity for the day. All boats are rigged with down riggers and out
riggers abd all lines will be rotated throughout the duration of the trip.
Note: Destinations change daily based on weather conditions and where fish
are being caught. The minimum age required for participation is 8 years and
children are considered between 8 and 16 years. Beverages, snacks, all

Dolphin Discovery

Tursiops truncatus, otherwise known as the bottle-nose dolphin is a very

time to meet the dolphins. Spend approximately 30 to 40-minutes on a platform
with the dolphins where you can touch, pet and learn all about their behavior as well as going through selected exercises with them. After your encounter
take some time to roam about Chankanaab Park and experience the beautiful

ative one-hour ride to Tulum. An approximate 50-minute rest and shopping stop

an informative narration on the Yucatan and the Mayan culture during the ride to Tulum. Two Plazas and thirteen structures mark the epicenter of this very
important ceremonial site of the ancient Mayan civilization. Altun Ha also
served as a trade center, located only seven miles from the sea it is also

tion when Professor David Pendergast of the Royal Ontario museum discovered
the now famous nine and a half pound jade head of the sun god Kinich Ahau in
the tomb of a Royal Priest within the main temple of the masonary altars.

A double treat awaits you in the Belize district. First, you will enjoy an open riverboat trip along the coast before entering the Belize River, called Rio Wallace by the Spaniards during the Conquistador rule of the New World. coach and head for the Mayan Ceremonial Center of Altun Ha. This site was a major ceremonial center during the Classic Period and is
composed of six major plazas, surrounded by more than 25 temples and palaces.
Located on a natural limestone ridge, the site provides panoramic views of
the hilly Cayo District and is situated just 2-miles from the Guatemala
border. The largest temple is "El Castillo" which has been excavated and
partially restored, this temple is famous for it's frieze, a banded stucco
decoration that at one time extended around the entire pyramid. The intro-
ductory site history and display center is found at the entrance to the
center and is one of the major attractions. Delve into the Mayan world as you
visit the site's three plazas and partially excavated ball court. At the
conclusion of your visit you will enjoy a delicious lunch at San Ignacio
Hotel. Handicraft and souvenirs can be purchased here. Note: Travel time from
the dock to Xunantunich is approximately 2-hours by coach. In addition, there
will be a short (5 minutes) "old time" ferry system transfer to the Mayan
site.
