Sailed on the Glory on Sept. 6,2003. This is a beautiful ship. We did not find that the ship was unstable in the least. It rode very smooth. As far as there being a lot of smoke, we did not notice any area that seemed to have a problem. Even the Casino seemed to have a good ventilation system. Enjoy your cruise.
If the weather / sea conditions are right, the Glory, as with any ship will rock.
How much will depend on the sea conditions.
I was on the Glory 2 weeks ago and a couple of times you could feel some minor movement. Blame the ocean---not the ship.
A cruise one week can be entirely different from the same cruise next week--hence, the differing reports about a ship riding " rough".
We were on the glory on 8-31, have been on the Triumph same time prior and DID NOT have the motion we experienced on the Glory. We were in a Cat 11 mid-ship empress and felt movement ALOT. I do not get sea sick and yet 2 nights felt dinner knocking on the door. We DID have calm seas the whole way, but this ship does have more movement and we heard that comment from people from all parts of the ship. Even in general talk in the elevators. SOOOOOOOOOO sea or not I think this ship does have more movement than others BUT it is beautiful, big, great, fun, and we would go again !
We were on the Glory 8/30, Verandah deck, mid-ship and never felt movement in the room or any other places on the ship. The smoke was heavy in Karaoke and the bars on the Promenade deck 5. We had a great time and enjoyed the Emerald Room Supper Club!

Hey CAcruiser-did you feel the ship rock and roll on the last night heading back to port Canaveral? It was a slow roll but it was a BIG roll back and forth. we actually had a couple of bags fall off the counter. That was the night that hurrican Fabian was heading for Bermuda. The rocking was kind of soothing to me and thats strange because I get sick sometimes watching a boat on tv. There was also one morning that we decided to have breakfast in the formal dining room aft and I could hardly stand to sit there because of the movement. but on both of these occasions the seas were pretty rough. when the water was calm the ship was perfect. even in rough seas the ship is motionless if you are headed into the waves as opposed to parallel to them. I agree that the smoke on deck five was pretty thick.
