cruising for new years eve

anyone ever been on the highs seas for new years eve? Just wondering what the ships do for the special night. We will be on Sensation and just wondering if there was anything special we needed to know or if anyone just had some good info. for us. Thanks cheers Nancy

We'll be on the Conquest the same time. Have cruised CCL 3x, but this will be our first NYE. Broke down and bought a tux. I guess they'll change the second formal night to Wednesday. Could only find a few on the boards sailing with us. Happy sailing and new Years! Chris P

My husband and I sailed 2 years ago for New Year's Eve. It was great fun. It happened to be formal night and at midnight there was a big party on the Lido deck with free champagne and Caribbean music and party favors and of course the big countdown!
We had a conga line the whole way up the deck. It was a blast. We did have a somber moment to remember 9-11 since it was still pretty fresh, but after that everyone let loose, even the bar staff got into the dancing.
