Hi Chris,
I got this hotel through Priceline for a Feb pre-cruise. When will you be there, possibly before me?? If not, I'll be sure to post about the hotel.

Well Chris,
Then you can fill me in on the hotel since you'll be there before me.. You got a really good deal, I bid $50 and got it, I better get a room with a view for that :-) I have heard its a good place to stay, close to the pier and shopping.

I stayed at the Radisson after our cruise on 10/18/03. I bid $35 on Priceline and got the Hyatt Regency for the precruise stay and the Radisson for the post cruise stay. The Radisson's common area are nice and clean, and the rooms in the high floor have great view of the harbor. Make sure you asked for a high floor. My room is clean but the furnishing and everything else are old. Some of the lights did not work. Since I only stayed one night and had a heck of a time obtaining the rental van (see my post on not renting from Dollar Rent A Car), I didn't care and enjoyed my time in South Beach. The Radisson is located on Biscayne Blvd and 16th St, is close to the cruise port, and is close to the Bayside Market place and downtown Miami. The taxi from it to the cruise port is $4 per person.

I stayed at the Radisson before my 9/1 cruise on the Paradise, also bid $35 on priceline. I thought it was a great value for the money. We had a king-sized room and all the rooms I saw had a giant picture window taking up most of one wall. Ours looked out over downtown and the port. It's a 3-4 minute drive to the port and there is a beautiful roof-top pool that we had all to ourselves! The lobby area is very nice also. No complaints whatsoever - the one thing we weren't aware of is that the on-site parking is about $2 an hour for a maximum of $10. We arrived at 11 (they let us check in early which was nice and upgraded our room although priceline doesn't allow for that), and had to pay $9 when we left for dinner around 7, and then another $10 when we checked out so budget for that depending on whether or not you have a car.

Hi Blue,
Thanks for the Radisson tips, no car with us, but its nice to know.

I do plan on spending some time at the pool after we arrive, was it a decent pool?

Thanks again,

Boy that's great to know. My husband was wondering about that. Was there a lot of parking there? We are coming from Orlando (staying with friends) and were told that it is a 5 hr. drive. When the cruisemates bash is on maybe we'd be better taking a cab. Kuki said that we would probably meet at the Bayshore Market(?) so wouldn't it be cheaper to take a cab there and back and leave our car in the parking lot.
tigercatOh we'd planned on leaving our friends house in the morning so that we'd get there about 3 at the latest.
