Default Upper beds vs sofa bed

Hey Hey We are trying to book a balcony room for 3 on the carnival pride and would like to know if a sofa bed or the upper is a better choice. What we get on the net is not very descriptive at all. Any thoughts out there.
Thanks;
Johnboy

Personally I would opt for an upper.

I had the sofa bed, and it was nice, but I think I would have liked an upper berth better. To convert the sofa into a bed, they put a sheet on top of it and tucked it in and gave you one sheet and a blanket if you asked...

It was comfy, but it would have been nice if it had been a more proper bed...

I've slept in both & while anything on a cruise is good - I would opt for upper birth.

I don't like heights, so sofa bed would be it for me.

The upper beds can be tricky when its 3 in the morning and you have to go potty and the stairs up are the size or your leg.

upper!
the cabin steward left our sofa made into a bed the entire time and we had no place to sit other than on the beds.

I would pick an upper too unless the bed was for a young child (who might have trouble getting up and down alone) or for an older person (who again might have trouble getting up to the bed). I don't think that I would of wanted to sleep on the sofa we had in our room on the Pride, I would much prefer a "real" bed.
