Kim.. we've done Christmas and New Years cruises. Christmas expect LOTS of kids! One year on Triumph we had 1000 under 18s. Also, the staff can be a bit down that week. Afterall, while you're there having a great time with family and friends, they are missing their families. We like to take along small gifts for the staff to try and raise their spirits.

New Years eve on the other hand is the best night to be at sea. The ship's come alive. Everyone is out of their cabins and having a ball!!

I was on a cruise last November and they were just starting to put up Christmas decorations - very tastefully done too!! Also, while I haven't seen it done, I have heard of people putting lights on their balconies (battery operated christmas lights).
