Paradise...too small to have fun?

Hello Everyone,
I will be crusing with my family of five and I am looking to save some money. We are booked on Truimph but after further research I realized if I sail one week earlier than planned and on the Paradise instead I could save $1,000 bucks. I love the no smoking aspect but I'm wondering if we'll still have as much fun. I've heard Truimph is a real party and while my kids are away at camp carnival I really want to have lots of fun...
So please let me know if the ship I want is Truimph or Paradise....Thanks

I have not been on the Triumph but have been on the Victory which is similar and I have been on the Paradise. There is plenty of fun on the Paradise. You may not find as many lounges or bars filled with people all night long but you will find some lively places on the Paradise.

On both sailings we did on the Paradise the ship was not full but there was still all the things going on that went on while we were on the Victory earlier in the year. We did back to back east west Caribbean on both ships. The only time the Victory was livelier was during our first week when it was still a school break, so there were more college kids.

You can find the fun on the Paradise. We had a great time on the Paradise and would gladly go again. We also met some great people on the Paradise. JMHO

What's funny about that is that many people report that the fun goes down when you exclude the smokers. Here in NY the bars recently went smoke-free, and I know a few bartenders who say it just isn't the same. The crowds are smaller and the air is cleaner, of course, but the 'din' of people having fun seems to be down. As a sidebar, they have also said the tips are down as well...

I've know many people that work on the Paradise and they report that the ship is some
what layed back. The night life is more relaxed. I've also heard that there are more families and children on the Paradise especially over school breaks.

I just went on my first cruise on the Paradise and I loved it!! Would never go on anything else! But I must admit that the night life was pretty sparse - ie. few people in the discos or at the casino. Since I'm not a real partier, I didn't mind at all. I know my travelling partner stayed out late several times, so he found something to do. But I supsect you're looking more at quiet times at a bar versus a party time atmosphere in some bars. I don't mean to imply that the ship is boring - it definitely wasn't - it just didn't have the night life party time that I would have expected. I will definitely cruise on the Paradise again.

Thanks everyone for your comments.....I guess I'll go with the saving money and book on Paradise....As my husband says we have plenty of time to party hardy, lets save money..Maybe because of spring break I'll luck out and get a party crowd...

My DH and I are booked for our 6th cruise on Paradise. We have always found some sort of party. If one was not going on, we start one. Hit the Piano bar and start singing, people will wander by and join in. Make new friends at dinner or by the pool and you will run into them eventually. Paradise has all the standard games and fun. What we find wonderful about Paradise is that you can choose to party hearty, or totally relax. There is plenty of space on the ship, even when it is full. Of course, NON SMOKING, is a true delight. This sounds like my kind of ship! I like the non smoking and don't care for party hardy but prefer going to the midnight R rated comedy shows etc. My parents were on Paradise a few months ago and absolutely loved the ship. Go save the money and spend it elsewhere. As another poster stated, start your own party. Besides I'm sure there is enough going on to keep you busy. Happy sailing!
