Default help with getting to Miami

What would be the best way for us to get to Miami from Deerfield Beach? We are flying in and out of Ft. Lauderdale for our cruise because we are going to stay with relatives before we leave for a few days in Deerfield Beach (1/2 north of ft. Lauderdale). We will be leaving for our cruise from there. What would be the best way to get there and back? Hate to rent a car to leave it in the parking lot of the cruise but we might have to end up doing that. Car rental prices for the dates from 12/31 - 1/5 are about $275. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,
We will also be flying out of FLL and docking in Miami. It appears that AVIS can pick us up at the ship and shuttle us to their location. Seems cheaper to rent for the day and drive to FLL than rent for the week and pay parking on top of the rental fee.

You can also turn the car back in and then take your cruise. Most car rental places in Miami have a shuttle from Miami International Airport to the Port of Miami. Also, you can rent a car anywhere in Florida and drop it off anwhere else in Florida, from Pensacola to Miami or Jacksonville to Key West, and not pay a one-way fee.
