what to expect on ecstasy

My wife and I are taking our first cruise on the ecstasy on 01/19/04 does anyone have any suggestions/tips? They gave us a guaranteed cabin and said its like gambleing to get an upgrade. Has anyone had any luck with this? Also, what should we bring to wear during this "winter cruise"?
