Pillows

Just read a post about packing where someone mentioned they liked to pack their feather pillow. Are the pillows hard, soft on Carnival ships? I am used to down feathers. Thanks

The last cruise on the Triumph my pillow was hard! I wish I had packed a soft one.

ours were soft and were just fine on the Conquest.

Re: Pillows

We just returned from the Fantasy and the pillows, bed and new duvets were just about the softest I'd ever felt! Their pillows beat mine at home for comfort. I suspect it varies from ship to ship and Fantasy *did* just go through a drydock, which, among other things, included new duvets, pillows, etc.

I'm pretty sure you read that from me. I do like to bring my own pillow along because I also prefer down feather pillow for my head and it is much easier to bring it along (it packs down almost flat in one of those space packing bags you roll the air out of) then to hope one is in our room when we arrive on the ship. We haven't had any horrible pillows on the ships we have been on but it is hit or miss whether it is flat or fluffy. I make sure to put my pillow into an idenifiable pillow case so it doesn't get mixed up with the ship's stuff. Good feather pillows aren't cheap.

Yep, I think it was you, Michelle. I remember the air packing feature which I know nothing about. I don't know how the pillows are on Celebration but I will probably bring my own

I'm very picky about my pillow and wish I had brought my own on the Jubilee. I'm glad you brought up this topic, as I will add my pillow to my packing list for April.

Re: Pillows

Well Stephanie you made me feel better because my DH had a good laugh...at me when he saw that I was asking that question.

I say if it will help us sleep better, then, it becomes an essential in the packing list. As a former "stewardess", I remember many who brought their pillows on trips with them.

I bet when the time comes, the DH will want to pack his own down pillow!

I will go further and say that if you cruised on the Jubilee and had a nasty pillow, then the sister ship the Celebration must have the same yukky hard bricks to sleep on.

Have a great cruise!

I don't remember the pillows on the Celebration being that bad...or any other Carnival ship. In fact there have been times when I have wanted to take my ship pillow home.
My husband usually has to ask for a second pillow...but he's a pillow stacker here at home as well.

Re: Re: Pillows

The Jubilee didn't have nasty pillows or anything like that. They were typical of a hotel type pillow. Were clean and all. I'm just really picky and I have some neck problems and I prefer my own comfy pillow.

I just think that if you have "pillow issues" you might like to have your own that you are used to.
