Black Jack Tournament

I plan on playing the BJ tournament this time. Could someone please explain briefly how they are run (do you have a set amount of money and is there a time limit? And how would your strategy differ from standard Black Jack (Staying, double up etc??) Any advise you be appreciated.

Last time i played it was a $20. entry fee. You sit with a full table with 1000 in chips and you get 7 hands. There is a maximum bet which I do not remember but most bet the max. They take the 7 highest scores (you can enter for additional $20.s as many times as you like). Those top players, keep watching the board, and return for the finals at around 11:30 p.m. late in the cruise. Same rules, only 2000 in chips. 7 hands. It is great fun. And by the way, i entered once and won $500.00 and a great plasitc trophy!

The biggest difference is money management vs. the rest of the table. The person to your left has the advantage to watch your bet before he places his. Therefore everyone to your left can adjust to keep you within a one bet max...thus not allowing you to break free.

Same applies to you and the players to your right (i.e. if they bet huge, you can bet huge).

There should be a 'button' that rotates so that everyone gets to bet first at least once, but the seat advantage never goes away.
