I am a first time cruiser, I purchased a gratuity package. Was this a smart thing to do, or was I fed a line of bull? I have so many questions, I don't know where to begin. What should I bring in the way of monies? Cash, travelers checks, or cc?
With this particuliar package you will have already paid the recommended tips in advance and you will not have them added to your S&S card. You also will not be able to reduce the amount is you are not happy. You CAN tip additional if you so desire. You will still have a 15% tip added to bar drinks and room service is also not covered. (Usually a dollar or two anytime you order something)
As for what to bring, I suggest a combanation of cash and CC. You will need cash for the smaller items ashore as well as tips, cab fares, and various items when ashore. You will need you CC for your shipboard account and can also use it ashore in the more weel known establishments for the larger items.
